About us

OWL live is a digital, innovative cultural platform that has been designed and developed since 2018 under the direction of the OWL Kulturbüro. The platform will bundle as many cultural events as possible from all over OstWestfalenLippe in an event calendar and thus make them even more visible. In addition, OWL live will offer an information pool for cultural actors that will support them in planning their events.
OWL live aims to gather a wide range of stakeholders under its roof: Large museums, small off-spaces, culture creators and culture enthusiasts. Use will be free of charge for all interested parties; additional features can be used via registration.

Responsible for the interdisciplinary development of OWL live are: The IT company Fellowmind Germany GmbH from Paderborn, who are working on the technical implementation of the software. The Software Innovation Lab (SI-Lab) of the University of Paderborn, which provides scientific support for the project. The OWL Kulturbüro of OWL GmbH is in charge of the project, with Jana Duda as project manager and Ariane Schmitt-Chandon as project coordinator.
Project partners are the districts of Gütersloh, Herford, Höxter, Minden-Lübbecke and Paderborn, as well as the cities of Bielefeld, Gütersloh and Herford and the regional association of Lippe. Furthermore, OWL live cooperates with the department of Teutoburg Forest Tourism of OWL GmbH, among other things to develop a common data pool for leisure and culture.

OWL live is a project of the REGIONALE 2022, in the context of which the launch will also take place in 2022. Under the working title "OWL.Kultur-Plattform", the project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
