Museumsbahn Rahden - Uchte | 3. Oktober (Tag der deutschen Einheit)

The museum railroad between Rahden and Uchte has been operated since 1991, initially by the "Rahden Group" of the Minden Museum Railway. In 2003, the association Museums-Eisenbahn Rahden-Uchte e.V. (MRU) was founded. The association has set itself the goal of preserving the railroad line from Rahden to Uchte and operating it with historic rail vehicles. From the early 1990s to the present day, the museum railway enthusiasts have been allowed to use part of the engine shed and the site of the former railroad depot in Rahden and are grateful to the owner, Meierguss, for its generous support.

The 25 km route between Rahden and Uchte is part of the connection
between Rahden and Nienburg that was opened in 1910. Passenger services between Rahden and Nienburg were discontinued in 1968, while freight services on the line between Rahden and Uchte ended in 1995. While large sections of the track between Uchte and Nienburg were dismantled, the Rahden-Uchte section was preserved
