Accessibility declaration

OstWestfalenLippe GmbH / OWL Kulturbüro is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve user-friendliness for everyone and apply the relevant standards (WCAG 2.2, BITV and the EN 301 549 standard) for accessibility. The legal basis is the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) in conjunction with EU Directive 2019/882. This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the OstWestfalenLippe GmbH / OWL Kulturbüro website published at www.owl-live.de.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The website is currently partially compatible with the technical requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).

Non-accessible content

The following contents are not barrier-free, as they represent a disproportionate burden:

  • There are images without labelling on individual pages. It is difficult to navigate to the images with screen readers. | WCAG: 1.1.1
The images from the database are gradually being supplemented with alternative texts. As this involves a large number of images and the images are uploaded by various parties and external interfaces, this is unfortunately still taking time and cannot be rectified by us for all images. We will inform the parties responsible for the images.
  • There are buttons without labelling on many pages. It is difficult to navigate to the buttons with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2
The unlabelled buttons originate from predefined modules and playouts that our service provider has to adapt centrally. Appropriate instructions have been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • There are interactive elements on individual pages whose names are not part of the labelling. This makes it difficult to control the website using voice control. | WCAG: 2.5.3
This affects predefined modules and playouts that our service provider has to adapt centrally. Corresponding instructions have been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • There are lists on individual pages that contain elements that do not belong in lists. As a result, the lists may not be displayed correctly by assistive technologies.  | WCAG: 1.3.1
This affects predefined outputs from our database, which our service provider has to adapt centrally. A corresponding note has been provided. We cannot adjust this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • Depending on the contrast value of the image, the copyright information on the images may not be sufficiently recognisable.
  • The external form for submitting an event is not fully accessible. There are no labels for the form elements. The event registration form is designed by an external service provider who has to adapt this centrally. We cannot customise this manually ourselves via the website system.
  • The heading hierarchy (H tags) is not displayed correctly in our event selector “Choose for tips”. Unfortunately, the module does not recognise H tags. Our service provider has already been informed of the problem and we hope to be able to fix it soon.
