GENERATIONS - Concerto for Two Harpsichords

The concerto spans a range from the generation of Bach’s sons to Mozart, who was a great admirer of J. S. and C. P. E. Bach as well as a friend of Johann Christian Bach.

Woven into this program is the art of improvisation, which was not only inherited by the Bach sons from their famous father but also flourished brilliantly in the luminous figure of Mozart. This art of improvisation, once so widespread, is presented in the form of C. P. E. Bach’s Fantasia in F-sharp minor and a free improvisation in the classical tradition.
