Musica da camera: Romantik Pur! Guadagnini Trio
Chamber Music No. 1
Alina Armonas-Tambrea | Violin
Edvardas Armonas | Cello
Yannick van de Velde | Piano
The piano trio is an absolute classic of chamber music, and this recording offers some special highlights from the Romantic era. Framed by a posthumous nocturne by Franz Schubert at the beginning and Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in C minor is a rarely performed Piano Trio in D minor by his sister Fanny. She married the talented and successful portrait painter Wilhelm Hensel, whose sister, the devout poet Luise Hensel, lived in Wiedenbrück for over 20 years. As an aunt, she cared for little Sebastian for several years, giving Fanny—who died young—time to devote herself to her compositional work.
