The guided tour of the town presents the beginnings of National Socialism in Herford and the phase of the so-called "Gleichschaltung" and thus the penetration of society. The focus here will be on everyday history, whereby the experiences and memories of Herford residents will be presented alongside scientific findings on historical sites.
A particular focus of the tour will be on the suffering of the victims of the Nazi regime. In addition to the suffering of Jewish fellow citizens, the tour will also look at other persecuted people in Herford.
Meeting point: As long as the main entrance to the Tourist Information Office is closed due to construction work, the meeting point will be in Abteistraße on the square in front of the district building (formerly the Sparkasse).
Registration is not required.
