Join us and explore Paderborn's historic old town, the shortest river in Germany, cool street art and the scenic diversity of the urban area with its rivers, lakes and forests on a varied hiking route of 50 kilometers!

The PADERMARSCH will be your personal challenge, your borderline experience. You will hike until it hurts and further. After that, nothing will be able to stop you. Nothing is impossible anymore!

You will meet many like-minded hikers on the route and don't have to go it alone.

A varied route awaits you: 

  • Natural surroundings with Lake Lippe, the Pader (the shortest river in Germany), Lake Padersee, the Haxtergrund local recreation area, various nature reserves and forests and the rivers Alme and Altenau.
  • Historical with the Weser Renaissance Neuhaus Castle, the High Cathedral of Paderborn with its three-hare window, the town hall built in 1620, Hamborn Castle, etc.
  • Modern, the route also takes you past the university, lively city center and famous graffiti.
