If you love thrillers and are interested in homeopathy and herbal medicine, you should make a note of October 7: That's when Steinhagen-based naturopath Andrea Boge will be reading from her debut novel "Tödlicher Hermannsweg" at Verl Library.
The unusual crime thriller is set between Bad Iburg and Bielefeld: five old school friends go on a three-day hike to Sparrenburg Castle - and at the end of the excursion, one of the women lies dead at the foot of the castle. Was it an accident, suicide or even murder? It is not only the investigations of the two Bielefeld detectives Manuel Hannemann and Hilde von Lingen that make the story exciting, but also their unusual knowledge: Homeopathy and medicinal plants play a central role in solving the case. Inspector Hannemann analyzes homeopathic symptoms, while Hilde von Lingen combines her herbal knowledge with tips for the medicine cabinet - for readers to puzzle over.
During the reading, Andrea Boge will give insights into the creation of the novel, talk about her many years of work as a naturopath and answer questions. Anyone who wishes can purchase the book on site and have it signed by the author. Tickets are available at the Verl library for 5 euros. It is possible to reserve tickets by telephone at 05246 / 92523-20 or by e-mail to biblio@bibliothek.verl.de.
