Through Köttelbeke and Totenstraße - street names tell the town's history

Streets and street names are known to tell the history of the town. But which streets that are still known today can be traced back to the Middle Ages in Lübbecke and how did they get into such a bad state in the 17th century that a report on magistrate conditions in Lübbecke states, among other things, that the streets and roads were so "fundamentally bad that no freemen could get there, nor could commerce be carried out"? What do street names such as Weingartenstraße or Klingelbrink tell us and who actually decides on the allocation of street names?
