Schooling shaped the cultural life of the village of Wietersheim for a long time. The "Old School Wietersheim" from 1780, the oldest school in North Rhine-Westphalia, provides an insight into everyday school life "back in the day". The historic structure of this small half-timbered house has largely been preserved to this day and has been lovingly restored by the "Active Friends of the Old School of 1780 e. V.". An old well, which was discovered during work on the floor and integrated into the new paving, provides a view into the depths. The classroom from 1780, which once held 28 pupils, has been preserved in its original state.
