Lahde monastery mill

The Lahde monastery mill is one of only two combined wind and water mills in Germany and is a two-storey "gallery Dutchman". It was built in 1876 on an older watermill building on the site of the mill of the Dominican monastery of Lahde, which was mentioned in a document in 1292. The tower is made of rock-fired bricks, its weather side is brightly plastered, the wooden gallery is built on sandstone consoles. It ceased operation in 1996.
