This is the name given to garden owners who open their gardens to interested members of the public on various days.

The idea of "open garden gates" originated in England and has a long tradition in the land of gardeners. Visitors take a look at the gardens, talk shop with the garden designers and exchange ideas.

This idea quickly found new friends and is now also a fixed part of the gardening year in various towns and communities in Germany.
