In Blomberg, you can experience a Dutch Advent market every year on the 1st weekend in Advent - unique in Lippe! "Piet-Piet-Piet" rings through the streets of the romantically illuminated old town when Sinterklaas visits the market with his "Zwarte Pieten". The Netherlands and Blomberg have been friends for over 40 years, which is the origin of this special Advent market.
The market opens on Friday at 12 noon and from 4 p.m. people get in the mood by drinking mulled wine. The official opening will take place at 5:30 pm by the local heritage association.
On Saturday from 12 pm to 9 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm, the lovingly decorated market invites you to linger with Dutch specialties, arts and crafts, a petting zoo and live music. Young and old alike eagerly await the arrival of Sinterklaas and his funny, cheeky Pieten, who diligently hand out sweets, perform little tricks and play pranks, at around 2:30 pm on Saturday.
